Helping people during traumatic emergencies at Alaska’s state designated Level II Trauma Center

Helping people during traumatic emergencies at Alaska's only state designated Level II Trauma CenterYour donations to ANMC’s Level II Trauma Center Fund helps comfort trauma center patients being treated for emergencies and life-threatening injuries at the Alaska Native Medical Center’s Trauma Center and Emergency Department. We provide funding for programs that ease their discomfort and help families cope during difficult circumstances.

One program provides clean, warm clothing to replace outfits that are often soiled or torn as a result of a patient’s condition or emergency treatment. It means one less worry for them and their families, and patients can go home in comfort and with dignity.

Did you know that in 1999 the Alaska Native Medical Center was Alaska’s first hospital to receive Level II Trauma Center designation by the American College of Surgeons (ACS)? It’s a unique designation by the ACS and a testament to the expertise and advanced facilities at ANMC. Last year more than 61,000 Alaska Natives and other Alaskans were treated at ANMC’s Emergency Department.

ANMC serves as the trauma referral center for all tribal health facilities statewide and works with health care providers across Alaska to improve medical care for Alaska Natives in rural communities.

With your support, the Foundation will help the ANMC Emergency Department be Alaska’s best place to go when the unexpected happens.
