The Alaska Community Foundation presents this ongoing dialogue series on “Conversations About Causes That Matter”. ACF President/CEO Candace Winkler will moderate the discussion, with special guests Dr. Jay Butler, Dr. Gary Ferguson, Laura Avelleneda-Cruz, Drew Michael and Elizabeth Ellis.

Guest panelists will share their expertise and interest in culturally relevant and sustainable health care and wellness in Alaska. Featured panelists, mask carver/artist Drew Michael and painter Elizabeth Ellis will present theirĀ  exhibit Aggravated Organizms. This collection of 10 human-sized wooden masks explore how all living organisms are made of cells and sometimes these bodies of cells are overtaken by disease. Represented are: hepatitis, rheumatoid arthritis, HIV, alcoholism, fetal alcohol syndrome, cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, influenza, behavioral health.
