The Foundation team works hard to connect donors, volunteers and advocates to ANTHC’s work in helping Alaska Native people become the healthiest people in the world. On July 27th, HANF took its work and supporters back to the greens for the second annual Teeing Off for Tribal Health, a one-day event that drew 82 players and 21 teams playing to raise funds and awareness for HANF.

The tournament raised more than $30,000 for HANF, beating last year’s earnings. The tournament was held at Eagleglen Golf Couse on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. Sixteen volunteers from ANTHC, Klondike Advertising and Doyon Limited helped the day run smoothly. A team sponsored by local online newspaper Alaska Dispatch took the team victory; a team of two called ‘The Larrys’ consisting of Larry Cleland of KNBA and Larry Sweesy of Craig Taylor Equipment took second. HANF Director Carrie Brown said the tournament was well received and is already booked next summer for July 25.

HANF thanks all golfers and volunteers, as well as sponsors Alaska National Insurance Company, Alaska Permanent Capital Management, Alaska Rubber & Supply, ASRC Energy Services, Bristol Bay Native Corporation, Bradley Reid + Associates, Channel Construction, ConocoPhillips, Cornerstone Construction, Doyon, Ltd., GCI Connect MD, Great Originals, Klondike Advertising, Northern Printing, Ukpeagvik Inupiat Corporation, VALIC and WisconsinRx/NationalRx.

“I thank all of our sponsors, players and volunteers, said Carrie Brown,” HANF Director. “The tournament was a great success and we are already looking forward to next year.”
