HANF, golfers hit a hole-in-one at first golf tournament fundraiser

ANTHC’s Healthy Alaska Natives Foundation (HANF) team is always creating unique ways to connect donors, volunteers and advocates to ANTHC’s work in making Alaska Native people the healthiest people in the world. Last week, HANF took its work and supporters to a new place: the golf course. HANF hosted its first Teeing Off for Tribal Health Golf Classic, a one-day event that drew 78 players and 20 teams playing to raise funds and awareness for HANF.

The tournament raised $25,000 for HANF. It took place at Eagleglen Golf Course outside of Anchorage on a sunny day in Southcentral Alaska. A foursome from the Anchorage public relations firm Bradley Reid + Associates took the team victory; a team of DEHE staff placed second, and a team of ANMC staff placed third. The tournament was well-received and we are already anticipating our 2nd annual Golf Classic, tentatively scheduled for June 26, 2013, again at Eagleglen Golf Course.
