#GivingTuesday

The Healthy Alaska Natives Foundation joins the #GivingTuesday movement!

We have a day for giving thanks…now we have a day for giving back! The Healthy Alaska Natives Foundation is proud to have joined the #GivingTuesday movement, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Occurring this year on November 28th, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick-off the holiday giving season. It’s a day when communities, charities, businesses, and individuals come together to transform the way we think about, talk about, and participate in the giving season.

Giving Tuesday is a day to celebrate a culture of giving rather than the culture of receiving and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.

We know many of you have already given to the Healthy Alaska Natives Foundation, and we thank you and hope that you will consider a donation.

Remember! All donations made before December 31st, 2018 can be filed on this year’s taxes. Tax-deductible donations can be made online to pledge your support today!

About #GivingTuesday

Now in its sixth year, #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. Since its inaugural year in 2012, #GivingTuesday has become a movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy with events throughout the year and a growing catalog of resources.

#GivingTuesday & Alaska

This year, on Tuesday, November 27th, Alaska’s nonprofits are part of a call to action that will change the calendar and help make history. We are celebrating a day dedicated to giving – when charities, families, businesses, community centers, students, retailers and more will all come together for #GivingTuesday – a movement to celebrate giving and encourage more, better and smarter giving during the holiday season that we are proud to be part of.

This year, Anchorage can help to take #GivingTuesday from something that was big to something that will really change the way we think about philanthropy and community service for generations to come. We hope that you will join us!
