2014 Purses For Change

The Healthy Alaska Natives Foundation team is constantly working on new and unique ways to attract and inspire donors, volunteers and advocates who support their work to improve the well being of Alaska Native people. On December 8th, the Foundation hosted its 2nd annual Purses for Change: A Purse and Accessory Auction.

The auction was a big success, raising more than $6,000 for the Lori Lange Memorial Toy Fund, which provides toys for pediatric patients undergoing painful or uncomfortable procedures at the Alaska Native Medical Center. More than 55 people attended the silent auction that showcased more than 100 new and gently used purses and accessories that were donated by ANTHC staff and community members. Participants also enjoyed door prizes, appetizers, refreshments and music at the Admiral’s Place Banquet Hall.

“Thank you to those who purchased items at this event in support of the Foundation and the Lori Lange Memorial Toy Fund,” said Carrie Brown, Healthy Alaska Natives Foundation Director. “I am constantly amazed by the generosity of our volunteers and donors. We couldn’t do it without all of your support.”
